• Springfield Mills lnc (SMI) produces, purchases, and has processed and marketed seed buckwheat into US and Canada. SMI has the exclusive rights from Agriculture Agri Food Canada (AAFC) for a variety called AC Springfield for the past nine years which is marketed as food grade buckwheat into Quebec, the United States and Japan.

    SMI has an agreement with Fisher Seeds from Dauphin, Manitoba and in agreement with the AAFC to produce seed from the Koma and Koto varieties. These varieties are grown, processed and then the seed is marketed in Ontario, Quebec and the US.
